Attila Bérces (CEO and member of the Board)
Attila Bérces, Founder and CEO of Omixon, received his PhD in computational chemistry at the University of Calgary.
Prior to founding Omixon, he worked as Associate Director and Head of Computational Chemistry at AstraZeneca, in Sweden.
He received a corporate level IT award for innovative computational chemistry algorithm development at Novartis, where he was Head of Laboratory for Computational Chemistry.
Before joining the pharmaceutical industry, he worked as a staff scientist at the Steacie Institute for Molecular Sciences.
Dr. Berces published 50 peer-reviewed scientific research publications and presented 30 papers at international conferences.
In addition to science, Dr. Bérces had studied R&D management and entrepreneurship at Chalmers University in Sweden, where he has been external advisor to seven MSc. students in the field of technology entrepreneurship. One of his business ideas received incubation resources at the Chalmers School of Entrepreneurship selected from 200 entries.
Tibor Fortenbacher (Chief Technology Officer and member of the Board)
Mr. Fortenbacher is a computer scientist in the field of software architecture -and integration. He was participated in several large IT projects of international firms like Sulzer Switzerland, Siemens, Allianz and Deutsche Telekom as software developer, architect and project leader. Thus he brings more than 15 years IT experiences to Omixon, which includes among other thing object oriented design, client server architecture, low and high level C/C++ programming, enterprise Java, web development and CRM.
Mr. Fortenbacher received his M.Sc. in Electrical Engineering faculty of computer science from Technical University of Budapest and Vienna.
Andrew Chu (Member of the Board)
Andrew T. Chu, MBA, is a successful executive who brings a wealth of experience in Life Sciences, Healthcare, and Chemicals industries. Andrew is currently the Senior Business Director at TATA Group’s TATA Consultancy Services (TCS) for Life Sciences and Healthcare. Prior to joining TCS, Andrew was the President of North America for CAMO ASA (a software and service company based in Norway.) Previously, Andrew has held senior management positions at QuantumBio, Inc. (a molecular modeling company), Qualyst, Inc (a leading ADME/Tox technology based biotech company). Andrew has held account and sales management positions at Accelrys and Dow Chemical. Andrew started his career as a chemical engineer at Hoffmann-La Roche and Nalco Chemical. He received his MBA from Rutgers Univ., and dual Bachelor of Science degrees in Chemical Engineering and Chemistry from Purdue University.
